If you are considering buying “Invisible” Hearing Aids, you have probably heard a lot about Embrace Hearing and Eargo – two of the most innovative online hearing aid companies. Both of these companies offer solutions for hearing loss at a fraction of the price of local Audiology clinics, but the similarity ends there.
NOTE: On September 21, 2021, EARGO was informed that it is the target of a criminal investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice for Insurance Fraud. You can see a short video overview of this situation HERE.
What exactly does Eargo sell?
Eargo makes and sells un-customized amplifiers or hearing devices, for mild-moderate hearing loss. They are priced between $2,500 and $3,000 a pair. Unlike the hearing aids sold in local Audiology clinics (and Embrace Hearing), with Eargo there is no hearing test or custom programing required – one size fits all. They come pre-installed with a few 'generic' hearing programs so you can try and see if one works for you. Simply place an order on the Eargo website. Eargo comes with a 1 or 2 year warranty.
You can read Eargo customer reviews on the Better Business Bureau website.

Embrace Hearing’s Invisible C-Series hearing aids
Embrace Hearing's Custom Programmed, Invisible 'in the ear' C-Series (Picture above) are made by one of the world’s leading manufacturers. These models are usually only available from local Audiology clinics but Embrace is able to sell them online for less than half of the cost you would pay locally.
Unlike Eargo, Embrace hearing aids:
- Come with a 3 year warranty,
- Are custom programmed to your hearing test, and
- Come with unlimited support by an Audiologist with no appointment needed 7 days a week. Embrace will need a hearing test in order to custom program your hearing aids. You can provide a test from a local clinic or use Embrace Hearing's on-line test.
